Overview
Your domain registrar is the company where your domain name is registered. To connect your domain to hosting, you may need to change the nameservers there.
Basic Steps
- Log in to the account where your domain is registered
- Find the domain management or DNS section
- Locate the nameserver settings
- Replace the existing nameservers with the ones assigned to your hosting account
- Save the changes
After You Save
The domain will begin updating across the internet. Some visitors may reach the old destination for a while and others may reach the new one. This is normal during DNS propagation.
Before Changing Nameservers
- Confirm that your new hosting account is active
- Make sure any needed website files or email accounts are already prepared
- Check whether your current DNS provider is handling important records you still need
